TrustArc announced the next generation of Arc Intelligence, the AI layer of the TrustArc Platform for navigating global compliance and AI risk. The release expands agentic AI capabilities built to help privacy, legal, and compliance teams do more with less.
The headline change is in Ask Arc, TrustArc’s AI assistant. It now takes action on a user’s behalf within the Platform through human-approved, conversational commands, instead of stopping at a recommendation. New support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) extends that reach further: it connects Arc Intelligence to an organization’s own business systems for richer context, and it puts Arc Intelligence inside the AI assistants teams already use every day.
Why Now
Privacy teams are running lean. According to ISACA, the median privacy team lost nearly half its dedicated headcount in a single year. At the same time, AI adoption keeps expanding what privacy programs are asked to cover: 80% of privacy professionals report taking on responsibilities beyond their core role in the past year. Cisco’s 2026 research adds another figure to the picture. Ninety percent of organizations say their privacy programs have expanded because of AI, and 72% of privacy teams say they still lack the resources to govern it.
TrustArc built this next generation of Arc Intelligence to close that gap.
“Ask Arc has always been about giving privacy teams a faster way to get answers. With this release, it does more than answer, it takes action, and it goes wherever our customers are already working. That’s the direction we’re taking Arc Intelligence: less time spent stitching systems together to consolidate data, freeing up privacy professionals to get more work done faster and with great confidence.”
Jason Wesbecher, Chief Executive Officer, TrustArc.
Ask Arc Can Do More
Ask Arc now performs tasks on a team’s behalf, executing multi-step workflows from a single prompt instead of stopping at guidance. This release adds three new capabilities:
- AI-powered drafting from evidence parses a customer’s existing evidence to auto-populate records, assessments, and control evaluations.
- Intelligent baseline suggestions recommend systems and third parties to add to a company’s profile, based on its Company Profile and peer patterns.
- AI summaries compare laws and TrustArc’s Nymity Research notes across jurisdictions in a single view.
MCP: The API for AI
Arc Intelligence also now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard sometimes described as the API for AI. MCP lets AI applications connect to external data and tools through one standardized connection, instead of a custom integration for every pairing. For TrustArc customers, that support works in two directions.
First, Arc Intelligence is now available inside the AI assistants privacy teams already run, including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT, so teams can work on privacy without leaving the tools already open on their desktop.
Second, through MCP connections, Arc Intelligence can connect to a customer’s own business systems, including Salesforce, Atlassian, and other MCP-enabled tools, bringing additional business context into TrustArc to deliver smarter, more relevant results.
Every MCP connection inherits Arc Intelligence’s existing governance commitments. Access is approved, not assumed, and customer data is never used to train external models.
What Early Adopters Are Saying
“I have not been more excited about technology innovation for business, legal, regulatory, compliance, privacy, security and AI governance professionals in many years. Arc Intelligence’s new agentic actions and MCP connectivity have been truly transformational for our program, and they seamlessly integrate with the new headless agentic capabilities that D&B has recently introduced for risk and compliance professionals. It takes the myriad of handoffs and administrative burdens that can overwhelm our profession and lifts them off our plates, reducing work that took many hours to just a few minutes, so we can finally focus on what matters strategically instead of just keeping up. This isn’t an incremental improvement; it’s a game changer for how our profession works.”
Hilary Wandall, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Dun & Bradstreet
“I like the smarter Arc! And because Arc is smarter and connected with MCP, our primary AI productivity interface, Copilot, is smarter and more efficient too. Additional and unexpected benefits include faster onboarding for new hires and Arc becoming the junior ‘virtual’ lawyer on my team, pulling context from TrustArc and other systems so work that once needed a senior lawyer can now be done by a junior lawyer, ultimately freeing up my experienced people to focus on more strategic work.”
Dominika Partelova, Group Data Protection Officer & Regional Counsel EMEIA, Edgewell
“What’s impressive about TrustArc is its ability to pair decades of expertise in privacy with a drive toward AI innovation. Rather than simply responding to how AI is changing the industry, TrustArc is actively shaping what comes next by developing thoughtful, differentiated tools that have the potential to meaningfully improve how privacy professionals work.”
Andy Dale, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Privacy & AI Governance Officer, OpenAP
